As an experienced Systems Engineer, I launched the e-book site “J-Comi” (now “Manga Library Z”) with Ken Akamatsu in 2010.

After navigating a service suspension in 2024 caused by financial censorship, I successfully relaunched the platform in 2025. I remain committed to preserving manga culture by publishing all works without discrimination.

Born in 1980 in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

I have contributed to several publications, including Shizuoka ni Manabu Chiiki Innovation (Regional Innovation Learned from Shizuoka, Chuokeizai-sha), Kokyo Governance Ron (Theory of Public Governance, Koyo Shobo), Shakaijin no tame no Jinken Koza (Human Rights Course for Working Adults, Shizuoka Prefecture Human Rights and Community Improvement Promotion Association), and Shukusho Shakai no Bunka Sozo (Cultural Creation in a Shrinking Society, Shibunkaku).

Born in Tokyo in 1972 to a Japanese father and an American mother, I hold a degree from the University of Minnesota, Department of East Asian Studies.

I began my professional translation career in 1988. My notable anime translation works include Gasaraki, Martian Successor Nadesico, and the 2006 North American releases of Patlabor: The Movie and Patlabor 2: The Movie. In manga translation, I have worked on titles such as Excel Saga (Vols. 1–5), Initial D (Vols. 5–11), and Black Lagoon (Vols. 1–5).

Beyond translation, I served as the Foreign Language Supervisor and English Translator for the entire Rebuild of Evangelion film series. I also supervised foreign language dialogues for Black Lagoon and Mobile Suit Gundam G-QuuuuuuX.

From the 1990s through the 2000s, I played a significant role in the burgeoning US anime convention scene, contributing as an interpreter and handling guest relations for numerous events. I was also involved in the establishment of the International Otaku Expo Association (IOEA).

I have supervised works such as “Zoho Eromanga Studies” (Expanded Eromanga Studies, authored by Kaoru Nagayama, Chikuma Bunko) and “Shonen Gahosha Version: Historical Figures of Japan – Toru Mitsumine” (Art by Morito Kanehira, Shonen Gahosha).

In 2015 and 2016, I was invited as a Guest of Honor to Anime Expo in California, the largest anime convention in North America, where I lectured under the title of “HENTAI Specialist.”

My authored books include “Eromanga Hyoenshi” (History of Eromanga Expression, Ohta Publishing), “Eromanga no Genba” (The Frontlines of Eromanga, Sansai Books), and “Yugai Tosho no Hon” (The Book of “Harmful Books,” Sansai Books).
